Long time, no GW ..
Hello.
This is my first post here (as u can see ). I need your help. I used to play GW when it came out .. got 2 characters to 20 and gave up (school, bla bla ). Now , i wanna start playing GW again - i got factions and nightfall . My question is - should i keep playing my Ranger(R/Mo(or R/W)), or should i start a new character ? Are the new proffs worth it ? . My ranger is pretty well geared..droknar armors , 2 green bows ,1 gold (the storm one). Thanks for your answers. |

Welcome back toGW. Do both, play your old ones when you want to and try the new ones? I, like you play a Ranger primarily, and personally I really like the Ritualist, but not the other 3 non core professions. Any answer you get here is going to be someone elses opinion, so why not just try the new classes and make your own about whether they are fun?

I don't suggest you play your old chars simply because you might get bored of them. You could play them through the other campaigns, but if I were you, I'd start a new ranger or one of the 4 new professions...
The New proffs are worth it if you enjoy playing them. It's all POV. I like assassin, but everyone else hated me :P. But seriously, choose something that looks good and play. The great thing is, you have some money, so this time around, You can afford Tomes, armor, and weapons. So you are pretty good off. Quote:

Assassin: -Meele- The pure "ganking" unit of GW. They normally find a strong target that is key to your mission, and take it out fast. The reason why most people don't like assassins, is because most beginners who play assassin: try to tank, and end up running ahead and die very fast...lol...
Ritualist: -Caster- Spirit caster. I don't know too much about them, because I never played them.. From what I understand, they can deal decent amounts damage, while offering the ability to heal about 75% as well as a monk. awesome monk substitute . Paragon: -ranged- "Spear chucka!" They throw spears while using shouts, chants and anthems to invigorate themselves and those around them. I never played one, but I hear they're fun. You might like them, as they are basically rangers Dervish: -meele- "Scythe Master" they carry a giant scythe, and deal massive amounts damage with it. While combining enchantments with attacks they can do a fantastic job at tanking, as well as dealing damage. Avatars Pwn face ... BTW Quote:
I just started a new one lvl 12 so proud *sniff* Ranger was the first class I played, so it brings back good memories .. EDIT: There were way to many grammar errors, so I made it more legible lol... Last edited by I Might Avenge U; Jun 20, 2007 at 04:35 PM // 16:35.. |

Well, it is nice, but there are a few problems you have to consider.
Assasin is more of a fast attacking dmg spiker, that kills an enemy fast, then runs away with shadow steps. Paragon is more of a station consistent damage dealer. So you can't really mix the two without running into problems The Assassin has horrible healing and the lowest armor in the game, so you might wanna choose a secondary that will increase your armor and life. Dervish might be interesting, becuase they have a good set of skill that can keep you alive. but for the avatars your gonna wann go with D/A Paragon and Dervish secondaries are gonna be hard to get, as you'll have to wait until you can go to Kamadon. It won't be that hard, but you'll at least have to get past "noob" island.. |

My suggestion would be if you don't want to play your exsisting character through the new chapters, then try one of the new professions. If you hate them, you can take your old guys through or make one of the core professions. Plus, you don't want to delete the older ones and miss out on the birthday mini pets. |
